Dreams, always different dreams...
Good nights sleep in the hot Carolina evening, it did cool a bit. I have tons of dreams, those from the night I don't need to share. Those that are of the daydream daylight mention I will.
So I am off to Florida, neice and sister to visit, one Appleseed to attend, maybe a meal/visit with a cousin in St. Augustine. Pretty full plate and on the 12th back on the road to the north going for the Dragon's Tail, 318 turns in 11 miles. Then visit cousin in Knoxville, where his home isn't on map nor satellite yet. Then the dreaming comes in to play.
It seems I can make time going Northwest, Louisville, KY - where one of my old high school classmates works and lives (no, I really won't stop there - haven't been invited) but then I go more north and Indianapolis and a blog meet (I don't think there is one scheduled and again I wasn't invited) but with just a bit more fuel I could try to visit Frank James's farm before I hit I-70 and roar on towards Denver and my brother and nephew. Well, except for the last stop in Denver, it is all a passing thought, no concrete plans.
I do know that I am going to be moving fast, I want to go home, where my wife and my life is - the disorientation of being elsewhere is at first exciting, always very interesting and often amazing - but there isn't any rest in the familiar while on the road, one could become very tired of turmoil, they must pay NFO big bucks or he never got off the military deployment merry-go-round. I haven't moved in fifteen years - that could be called settled couldn't it?

Earl, trust me, you have seen more of this country from ground level than I have. And you're right, I pretty much never got off the deployment merry-go-round. Sigh...
