The Love of Christmas‏ (from my mother)

Dear family and friends,,

What has been the love of my life has been Christmas, always since I was a really little girl. The artificial tree my folks bought after my sister was born, and we had it till I went to college. They told me that at last it had caught on fire, so they had to buy another one. By that time, I had had lots of living Christmas trees, never had an artificial tree till Don got sick, and then I bought an artificial tree.... Now my daughter made me a stuffed Christmas tree, as cute as it can be! Has lots of little ornaments on it. I really enjoy it! (and it fits my small room).

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat, please put a penny in the old man's hat, if you haven't a hay-penny will do, if you haven't got a hey-penny God bless you! Got a box from Janet, which I'm saving till Christmas day itself to open! Always, Christmas is wonderful, being on the north or south of the equator! I have a worker here who is a genuine South African. I am happy about the cards I've gotten. Gotten my new great grandson with the name of Garrett, which was my father'seminary's name. Who knows what he'll be, but that's alright! We never know even ourselves! But it's fun thinking about what it might be! (Got lots of ministers, my grandfather, my uncle (who married Don and me) my niece, my father, ) You all have a wonderful Christmas time, I am so glad I have so much family and so many friends, which I love so very much, Melba, Mom, Grandma, Geegee
