Hope I spelled that right, any way, current story line - the old guy is off on adventure in Afghanistan and is now missing in action, Russian helicopter crash or something similar. His wife, mother of twins, is home and possibly pregnant, surrounded by well meaning liberal ladies.
Ah, and is the husband MIA going to come back, or not? I read fantasy and science fiction (real world is too bland or ugly?) and I picked up "Game of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin. It was the beginning of a series and great story, and ADULT! Yes, there is sex in it, not enough to arousal but enough to know why it happened. What was adult about it, the main hero type was executed coldly and suddenly and I was as surprised as the characters in the story, except for the ones that knew they were going to do it. Shock! How could an author do something like that? I recommended it to everyone, and there are four books out now, and in his most recent he actually took and started telling the story from Kingslayer's side, a bad man. I stopped recommending the series - seems the Author got caught up in merchandizing and his other passions and won't ever finish the three other books he said would wrap it up. Seeing in real life the best authors also pass away - I don't figure he will come back in time. I can hope, but don't really expect it.
Back to the old guy missing in the mountains - I identify a bit with him, what he does best, what he does when he isn't doing his best, and many other things - I am older, really. But I wonder if this cartoonist could actually kill off one of his creations - making this an adult comic. I wouldn't want it, but then I want all our service people to come back from the foolish fury, alive and whole - a very adult attitude. It isn't a movie, the real heroes are the ones defending the bridge, but they normally die doing it saving the tribe from annihilation. when reading the Wiki post I noticed that those that hadn't been there, who want to be known for something have said it didn't happen that way, wasn't the truth and such. Yeah, not understanding that those things that are honorable, noble and divine are so above the petty little people crying out against them.
Japanese, heroes, far flung troops, those petty little people flinging stuff at the people watching them at the zoo.... don't kill the old guy off, I would be there for the bold breasted babes, and my wife would object.

Chris does a good job, and I too hope he comes back, since I suggested the story line to him... sigh...
