Well, I am sixty-four today... and not deadly at all...

My Birthday, thank you, Mom. I get spoiled by my wife and went shooting. Or tried to go shooting. Do you KNOW how many people have a new something they are trying out on the range today? Well, they were all in front or behind me waiting for a shooting bench.

The elegant elder man - Air Force Retiree - was shooting today, he takes such care with every shot. Very old school, and I aspire to that level one day. But not today. Saw some great shooters on pistol, serious shooters on sniping rifles in the prone with optics that demand a bipod to get the weight off the shooter. One of the pistol shooters was having his pistol lock back on every shot, he had two barrels for two calibers and something beside an empty magazine was causing the lock back. One guy was double tapping (a no-no) or just rapid firing the whole magazine (another no-no) but I wasn't impressed - his target at twenty-one feet had very few holes in it.

I finally got a shooting point and moved the shooting bench, to pretend I was a real shooter and from the prone. Sixteen at fifty, moved sights right, eight at one hundred and a bit more right and then twenty four at two hundred. The fast stepping going out to target, take picture, slap on a target and repair, move target, fast stepping back to the firing line. One day I will do it all at three hundred, after verifying the zero. Great day to be an American!

I wouldn't want to 'argue' with you at any range Earl :-)

You say you aren't deadly, but I'd rather be behind you shooting than in front.

Happy Birthday!
