It's NOT the real LAW....

NO GUNS ALLOWED IN DC!

A few people don't like that idea, but that's the way it has to be. It's not me, folks, it's the law, and we will not break the law in any way, shape, or form; that's not who we are. We are here to change the law, not to become criminals. This march will be peaceful and law-abiding. End of story.

The above is from the 2nd Amendment March, and that is why we need another education system, the Law started with establishing the Constitution, and it went downhill from there. Before there was a Washington D. C. there was the approved and important Bill of Rights tacked on to the Constitution. Okay, quibble a bit, the establishment of the District is before the ratification of the Bill of Rights, but what you see as Washington D.C. was still mostly good intentions and plans for a swampy area around the Potomac River when the Bill of Rights was debated and accepted as the necessary part of the new government. So the real law breakers are all those swearing to defend the Constitution and enacting laws against the Rights of the People.

This is good to look at closely, it is the second time I have run into People of the Gun, trying to be good law abiding citizens and make changes in bad law and bad politicians and our temporary rulers. It is good to have real discussion, assemble without arms and provocation, and it is very important to maintain your citizenship because once they make you a riotous, dangerous, gun toting, felon you lose all those rights that they disregard already. And I don't think violence will cause much except death and destruction, so I don't hold with the fool stuff of taking up arms against much of anything. If you want to make more points disregard those fools in power - all the criminals are. Look at what the government is doing for illegal immigrants - every one a law breaker. Look at what they do for drug abusers and alcoholics. One day they will decide that carrying a gun is an addiction and we will receive treatment programs after we are caught. In Vietnam they are called Re-education Camps.

Back to basics, the idea and the activity of a mass demonstration in Washington, DC in support of the 2nd Amendment is a great idea - participate! Those that have to carry guns go to Arlington, Virginia and walk the among our heroes in their rest, talk to the dead that carried weapons in defense of our future and their past. Yeah, I know it is a National Park and someone will say bearing arms there is disrespectful, but they have been wrong before and probably will be again. If you go to DC, always visit Arlington and walk the graves and talk to the fallen, read the stones, know that your Founding Fathers were all in rebellion against the King over things like the right to keep and bear arms, taxes and self government (law breakers extraordinary!). Ask yourself where they would be standing if we were holding a peaceful demonstration in support of the basic law for Federal Government, I know Hamilton and Jefferson wouldn't be seeing eye to eye, but they did get their differences expressed and cobbled together a fine document. Go to the Demonstration, one warm happy body, at peace with self and the potential of America - Land of the FREE, Home of the BRAVE. Just remember, if you weren't so nice, you would be carrying, if there were not such fools in charge -- it wouldn't be against the law it would be an adult requirement. Vote them out in 2010.

Ah it is raining, really Northwest Coast Raining...

It is constant, it is heavy and there is more on the way, the streets are wet, when the drains plug up with fallen leaves the roads become little rivers flowing to find escape from the cars spraying and splashing large fans of water. The large umbrellas come out, the rain coats and rubber boots, it is darker, and the rain falls heavy drumming upon the roofs and roads. The Sound absorbs the rain from the Pacific but the trees and ground want to shed it, and can't. Since the ground is already soaked, the rivers start to rise flooding in the near future, warnings on the television to clean the drains of leaves, watch driving across slick wet leaves and an example of a car that went over the embankment when it slid out of control.

In the library today my crew and I worked on steadily, the primary shelver was on a mission to find all the books I would withdraw because of pages and pictures missing. They are torn or cut out because there are so many stupid people in prison, ones that still believe their wants out weigh that of the many, and if they don't get it first some other guy would steal it anyway. Always remember that these inmates will be released back to your neighborhood one day. As I say that I remember putting about forty-two donated books into the collection, many brand new donated by inmates that do care and will share. When I put the newspapers out about Senator Obama's victory with his speech and pictures of his family and Senator McCain it was a pretty good set of coverage. In an hour they were all stolen and the local bookie couldn't get his NFL spread for this weekend's betting. Do remember that I am not here to provide targets and opportunity for more crime, I do circulate real fine information and reading material.

Y'all get out and VOTE! we have here done so...

I had an appointment for more and much better electronic death - High Definition Television was to arrive - according to the contract, between 8 am and 12 noon.... well, I waited, then called my work day off, notified the Corrections Sergeant that the library was closed, put in a vacation day request, called my supervisor's cell phone and told her, and sent a Library-All notification that MICC was closed for vacation and no coverage. Just at twelve I was called by the cable guy, that he would be late - and he was, two more hours before he shows, then the whole thing doesn't work, he put in two different boxes, then a DVD box, and messed with the cabling and connections and finally we had a signal. I signed his paperwork and he left and I started putting everything back together - video, DVD players connections check picture, check connections, and change out the old favorites for the new favorites. There is a large difference in picture quality. And my wife is happy enough with the improvement - this was the kind of picture she bought that fine Sony for... just think how hot those wrestling Divas are going be on Smackdown! Not that she would notice.

We also voted today - the Presidential, Governor's Race and many other things are done and we don't have to pay attention any longer. They go out in the mail tomorrow on my way to work. My son also sent his ballot in, absentee service person - I always wonder why the Democratic Party thinks that the military is leaning Republican, although they are Conservative in many values they don't hold too much hope in any politicians. Although, I do remember singing "Train, train, train, in the Eighty-Deuce, Please Mister Reagan won't you turn us loose!" those were the days... we just liked knowing we had a President that would support us and we wouldn't die for no good reason. Don't mind the dying as long as it was worth the pain, some days I wanted to level Washington DC, or just take out all the people wearing expensive suits. Those days were always while I was in some forsaken land, doing the impossible with as little or no effect on tranquility and shopping maddness at the American Malls.

Did talk to my son and daughter-in-law (in Hawaii), with my wife, and marveled at their youth and energy, sent a message to my cousin's wife (in Mississippi)and told everyone too much about my weekend shooting adventure - I was comparing historical accounts of the start of the American Revolution while I waited for the Cable guy, and I pulled down my copy of Firearms of the World, too. Like me, an older edition and out of touch with reality, those old rifles just keep going, and going, and going. Well, enough for one day, the High Definition will be good background for my study of the M1 and some needed exercising.

I remember Nate, who qualified Rifleman, with a 213 and then a 233, telling me that all I needed was a little Magic, and I wondered how serious that was - but I think I have the magic - and will work on the knowledge to support it well. Nite! y'all.

Strange Monday

I am off to work early, an important visitor, the Program Manager and my supervisor will be dropping by to McNeil Island Corrections Center branch library - the one I keep. So I guess I am going in early and the crew is coming to work early so we can make the place wonderful.

I dropped off posting, I have been attacking the procrastination pile and control of my finances. Can't expect the new government, (we are changing all the current office holders in November's election aren't we?) to get control of spending without that I do likewise. No, I am not basing my life on the government, I need to be in charge for the coming complete collapse - of me, if not the world. Only two little things to finish, since I have finished the checking account - my wife's mutual funds and my savings account, should be done after lawn mowing tonight. Tomorrow I move a little money between accounts and we will be prepared for October's ghouls and ghosts and good stuff like motorcycles in the Autumn and shooting the M1 Garand - the ammunition is on the way.

Been doing lots of religious stuff lately, choir practice on Thursday evening after Methodist Men's Bible Study. We actually finished a chapter in one session - we drift and add and expound much on our personal points of view - we trust each other. On Saturday I drove my wife to the Baptist Men's Bible Study and a farewell to one of their members, he and his wife are off to Korea for one or two years. I was not comfortable, they pray in a different cadence than I do, but the Bible is the same read differently and they sang as loudly as they prayed, I was trying to sing my part (my choir director has ruined me for just melody) and they were just joyously booming upon the melody line. The food was massive and wonderful, always more than enough, always different and all of us had a good time. On Sunday I went motorcycling to church, it was perfect riding weather and Norman Rockwell was painting the day for the Lord. I was told by the preacher that I shouldn't stereotype and be so racially biased, but I live with a Korean lady that knows the most superior race is Korean (although I hold out hope for the entire Human Race) - it could have been a blanket sermon for the few that aren't comfortable with others (you know the kind I mean - those others). Since this lay preacher is a school teacher against guns, he has his own bias to overcome - I'll pray for him and invite him to go shoot with me someday.

Sales on Sunday

I go to CMP and check to see if my orders (one email and one US Postal) are logged, and get a message that I am not affiliated or have allowed my affiliation to lapse and get back with them when I have corrected it - email, fax or mail. That seems to be my problem with the Democrats and Republicans - I am not affiliated, I am independent and they aren't going to represent me- okay, I am not worth worrying about anyway - although I always believed independence of thoughts and actions was the best part of America. Oh, well, to ride on military bases I must have reflective gear, and ICON has just what I think I need, Squad II Spec Pack $125, the price is ugly, the pack is international orange, which is ugly, but I think it could easily replace my current backpack and I would be happy. I have a thing about being ugly, and unaffiliated, alone again or always.

Good Morning America!

I will admit to making a mistake - I turned on the television to eat breakfast by - and found the flurry over a young woman's pregnancy and the Media's take that this is of National Significance. Don't worry about Red China and Taiwan, don't even think Russia might be more Superpower than we would like, don't think that our wounded Vets become more alone the farther they get from their units and other vets. Nope, just worry about Abstinence Education versus Sex Education and what happens, and who know when and why weren't we told.

The media wasn't told because they don't have any idea what makes great Presidents, just which pictures and news will sell advertising time. They gloss over the Democrat's Attack Blog that started the rumors. Personally, I know I never had sex education and my mother insisted on Abstinence, although she will admit that her own last pregnancy was not planned but very welcome. Anyway, I am not the model of propriety and am not holding myself up to be followed but I am certain having become disgusted with this morning's brain mold slime from the media - they haven't a clue about the Presidency, what is important and who is qualified for the office. They do know how to sell products that one hardly ever needs.

I spent Labor Day trying to get started on the last quarter of the year. Just think, I am so far behind I need help catching up. I finish the evening ironing the clothes, my mother taught me well when I was in high school, of course, we don't sprinkle anymore since we have steam and surge irons and permanent press. I did get mailings and bill payings prepared, need to find a notary for the CMP paperwork - the M1 is in the works, after I send it out I just wait for delivery. My wife and I rolled coins and counted bills from the donations at the coffee stop, I think I need to stop being United Methodist Men's Treasurer next year - my personal books are six months behind - and my wife told me three times to wash my hands because of how dirty the money was and one never knows where it has been. Yes, dear. Actually I don't do 'Yes, Dear" I do "Ney, Yobo"

Well, back to going to make the world a better place for prisoners, churches, people in general and those wonderful women that have loved and bring forth the better future in their babies.

Depression about my lack of discipline...

I am such a slug, and I turned on the computer again this morning (didn't last night and you didn't miss me, did you?) and I am behind again. But I have this monster to get off my back and onto the page.

In the mail I get an offer of ten days of trial of the World of WarCraft (now that is tempting - but I have played other games against those on-line warriors and would rather fight Germanic Barbarians with the Roman Legions - and you know how that worked out - only good in The Gladiator). I also got my chance to add to the millions of dollars supporting the Candidate Osama, sorry - Barack Obama and Dino Rossi. Both of them are saying it is time for a CHANGE! For those that aren't from the Great Northwest, Rossi is the Republican candidate for Governor. I also get an envelope from the AARP for Life Insurance Enrollment - but I hadn't asked for them, do plumbers knock on my door? Nope.

Anyway, back to my depression with my disappointing me - the sad lack of discipline and loss of control of my life. Clara Hart has some real things to feel bad about and needs encouragement and I have my little angst, mine is nothing but it is mine. But I was reading Bear on a Bicycle and his note struck me as part of my problem. I seem to be concentrating on my failures, instead of the positive things I do - like I did get out of bed this morning opened the blinds and have taken my medicines (which I start cutting in half again, every other day) and made the coffee. I left a positive message at a blog that I have enjoyed for years for the blogger. Sometimes we need a reminder that we mean something to the world - they seem to ignore my wishes so well. I was telling my program manager (yes, I am part of the programmed) that the stories we need to tell the Legislature are the ones about inmates that leave our libraries and become good citizens. But then good citizens don't get in the news too much, do they? And I guess if I were jailed with Martin Luther King, Jr. during his protests and struggle I might share that, but being just a thug and a bad one that was caught and punished for it - that doesn't get aired until you are sitting in the rocker at the old folks home. Well, this morning in the email was a letter with a name I didn't recognize and was about to be deleted - like I would ever answer the people needing my help with their new found wealth and banking troubles.

"Hey Earl.

I worked for you for a few years at MICC. (I was the black gentlemen in need of a serious haircut!!!! HAH!!) You may be hard pressed to remember me as I got out in 2001, and never went back. (I attached a couple pictures to help you remember). I changed my name. As crazy as this sounds, I was just having a big old belly laugh about some of the times I had in that library. The petty things some of the prisoners were overly concerned with. I wanted to thank you for a few things.
First.. thank you for treating everyone fairly. You treated all of us the same. Like human beings, despite whatever acts we may have been involved with. I was in prison for seven years and you were the ONLY staff who behaved in a consistently civilized manner. You also didn't take any crap and I respected you for it.
Thank you for George R.R. Martin... who proved to me that fantasy fiction did not have to be silly. Until meeting you I wouldn't read any fantasy (being convinced that they were all bad Dungeons and Dragons sessions run amuck). I have been married for four years. My wife loves George Martin now and I have shouted his praise whenever it was appropriate. You were someone I looked forward to talking to everyday. In a place that was... less than hospitable. I took our discussions on adult relationships to heart, and I searched very hard for my wonderful wife, and have tried to be the best husband in the world for her.
Keep up the good work. Some of us do become rehabilitated. I am a 1/3rd shareholder in a company that produces web sites. I am also the sole proprietor of my own music publishing company, which has actually got some big projects on board to make me some money. The books you helped me to get on inter-library loan gave me the knowledge to make a living. Thanks for al your effort. I usually was way over the limit in my number of borrowed books. I want you to know I read every single one. It wasn't a waste. Thanks.

(I read your home page after googling your name). I am proud to have learned a few things from you. You may be having a bigger impact on peoples lives than you know. Maybe next time I'm in Tacoma we can get a cup of tea (I don't drink alcohol at all) and you ca meet my wife and kids. I've told her all about you.. the one nice guy in a land of jackals.

The best to you and yours,"

Well, that fits what I was saying about my focus, and what the Institutional Libraries needed in support. Of all the things I got from the Soviet Union, you with the AK's and SKS's have your treasures I have mine - I got one piece of Tactical Doctrine, remember I was a serious warrior for years and I studied. But the piece I thought was worth keeping was "Exploit Success, forget about the rest" I'd give it to you in Russian - but I never learned that, just German & Korean - one really must be able to talk with one's allies. Focus on the positive and enlarge what is working well, and remember that although one can be replaced - there would still be the void of who you really are and that makes all the difference.

Friday, finally and Heller is sinking in everywhere...

This morning I was the first to comment on Kim Du Toit's blog about:

Obama Quote Of The Day II
Kim du Toit

7:44 AM CDT

What a beauty:

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Read it all

Well, reading that statement “Civilian Security Force” as meaning an armed citizen mobilized with good intentions.... the 2nd Amendment lives! Now can I have my BAR? Please.

AbnNCO | 7/11/2008 07:48 AM CDT | my words in comment.

Then I went to see Breda and she sent me off to visit Mike-istan after reading his blog I was going great GUNS! Made me want to run out and get that battle rifle and stock up on ammunition as my son advised. But I went to work and then helped with the Vacation Bible School a bit, and thought about how nice the motorcycle riding is right now. But I will go to the range tomorrow and fire some well placed rounds with my left hand (I have been ignoring my good advice about Murphy getting to pick his time to ruin your day).

By the way, any civilian force with any government control (especially from the FEDERAL level) is para-military and I am not joining - I am too old and independent, and y'all should be, too. We don't need control, we have done fine without it. I would allow the government to give me a thousand rounds of military ammunition for MY BATTLE RIFLE, that they would want me to fire up in ten opportunities a year (no two times in the same month). And they can provide the range for 50 to 600 meters with targets. Haven't I really flown off into Neverneverland? Dinner calls, and I will think on how lucky I am that I don't live in England, Australia or China.

Leader of the Free World...

Selecting a President, read about it at the Library!- the media only knows how to attract your interest so they can sell ad time (commercials abound). I have heard that Iowa doesn't represent the United States - but then I say that New York City, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles don't (thankfully) represent the United States either. I will vote in November, for one of the candidates groomed and well presented by the vested interests of their respective parties. And although I told one loud patron at my library not to offend my sense of harmony by using vulgar and obscene language, "when he decided that XXX would be elected", I think the candidates have sterling characteristics and are just the kind of people I would invite home, if I weren't a recluse and paranoid from surviving the Vietnam War and still confused about if I had been doing a good thing or I was the most evil pawn of that ancient nasty government. The term I have had the most problem with is "Leader of the Free World" and then thinking our President should be followed by free thinking people, freedom lovers everywhere and others if they know what is good for them. I don't, and haven't followed a President anywhere - I made a career of going where he pointed out I was needed, but I don't follow Presidents. They often impress me but I could never get away with their lapses of common sense and good judgement, and are then so easily forgiven by people I know would never forgive me, sigh. I sent my last political monetary contribution to a one legged Senator from the midwest when I thought he would be someone I could understand, it wasn't enough and some governor from Arkansas took the party's position, and I couldn't understand him not being brave enough to jog through Washington DC every day. How much he feared real America was all I could think, I didn't know how he would occupy his time stuck inside the Whitehouse all day. Yes, I have jogged in Washington, DC, and helped paratroopers march proudly there, walked the streets and all, but then no one depends on me to push the button on Nuclear Release between bimbos... we can do a better job of selection of a President, but somehow I think the money men will buy our next leader or the ones they can't buy won't get selected. Which maybe why the thirty thousand excellent potential Presidents don't even attempt to compete - they have a great life, and don't think the position of President is that critical, most Americans aren't following, most of us are out there living the best we can. Even my inmate patrons and library clerks are doing the best they can every day, no matter who is President or trying to become the next one.
